The recent tragic death of Arnie the German Shepard has left many of us overwhelmed and shaken with sorrow and grief. No animal should suffer, let alone suffer a traumatic death like Arnie. Arnie’s story is a heartbreaking reminder of why protecting animals matters so deeply.

In his honour, I’m launching a fundraiser for the RSPCA, aiming to raise $5,000 before Christmas. Every contribution (even $5) helps the RSPCA rescue animals, prevent cruelty, and support families who are struggling to care for their pets.

Animals give us unconditional love. When we welcome a dog, cat, bird, or reptile into our homes, they become family. That love comes with the responsibility to safeguard their well-being for their entire lives.

It is the only charitable body responsible for investigating and prosecuting cruelty cases within Queensland, with the Inspectorate receiving over 17,800 reports of cruelty last year.
