Each challenge can be completed in a timeframe that suits you, and you can record your progress through your fundraising page manually or with integrated fitness trackers. As you make your way through the journey, you'll receive imagery of the various milestones to show you just how far you've come in support of mistreated and homeless animals.

Inca Trail

The Inca Trail is a world famous trail through Peru, culminating at Machu Picchu - The Lost City of the Incas. Covering 47km of hilly and rugged terrain, this trek typically takes 4-5 days to complete. 

Overland Track

The Overland Track is Australia's premier alpine walk, and is listed by Lonely Planet as one of the best treks in the world. Think ancient rainforests, moorlands, eucalypt forests and gorgeous meadows. This trek has a distance of 70km and generally takes 6 days to complete.

Everest Summit 

Can you climb the equivalent of the tallest mountain on Earth? The full 85.5km expedition takes 6-8 weeks, and offers mountaineers the opportunity to stand on top of the world.  

Tour du Mont Blanc

This is one of the most popular long-distance walks in Europe. Covering a distance of 168km, the trail passes through parts of Switzerland, Italy & France, and offers spectacular scenery. This trek generally takes between 8-10 days to complete.

Great Ocean Road

Known as one of the world's most scenic coastal stretches of road, this is a favourite for road trips, but why not do it on foot? Spanning 243km from Torquay to Allansford, this is a walking challenge not for the faint of heart!  

Routeburn Track

The Routeburn Track is a world-renowned hiking track found in the South Island of New Zealand, offering picturesque landscapes like mountains, glaciers and forests, just to name a few. With a distance of 32km, hikers typically complete this trail over 2-4 days.

How long do I have to complete my trek?

This is completely up to you! The beauty of our Virtual Trek is that you can complete it wherever you like, at your own pace. We suggest setting a personal timeframe that is achievable for you and the distance of your chosen trek, such as a week, a fortnight, or a month.

How do I log my workouts and track my distance?

You can connect your fundraising page to sync with your Strava or Fitbit apps, or you can manually add in each exercise via your fundraiser dashboard.

Your progress will be displayed on your fundraising page as a chart against the distance target for your nominated trek, and it will also count towards the overall QLD tally for all trekkers shown on the homepage.

  • Login to your fundraising page via https://www.iamforanimals.org.au/
  • Hover over your name in the top right corner and select “My Fitness Activity” from the menu
  • Connect your preferred app, or scroll down to “Add Activity” and input your exercise details
  • Hit “Save Changes” 
  • Please note: activity logged via an app will take 24 hours to appear on your page

What exercises count towards my trek progress?

You can log walks, runs, bike rides, swims, or time spent on gym equipment! If you've synced an app, it will pick up your movement automatically when you start your workout; if you are manually adding in your activities, simply select the exercise type from the dropdown menu, or click 'other'. 

What support will I receive from RSPCA Queensland?

Our Community Fundraising Team will be there to support you every step of the way with your fundraising! As you progress along your Virtual Trek, you'll receive a series of emails at key milestones throughout your journey. We will share imagery from the real trek, along with information, inspiring animal stories, and fundraising tips. You can contact us at any time, too.

How do I unlock the achievements on my fundraising page?

The grey badges on your page will turn blue when you have reached milestones specific to your distance and fundraising targets!

Will my donors receive a receipt for their donation?

Yes! Anyone who makes a donation of $2 or more onto your fundraising page will automatically receive a receipt via email.
